Sheikh Ponda has been released

Dar es Salaam Police  Regional commissioner has dismissed the Tanzanian Secretary of State and Islamic Institutions, Sheikh Ponda Issa Ponda.

Pondà has been released yesterday on Saturday evening after taking himself to the central police since on Friday as he was urged to give triumphant languages at his meeting with reporters on Wednesday.

The spokeswoman Sheikh Rajabu Katimba said: "Sheikh Ponda has been expelled from custody and will have to report the police again."

Initially, Regional Commander, Lazarus Cossa said investigations against Ponda were continuing and if the inconsistency had been secured.

"The detective continues and ends up, we will look if he or she will receive a deposit or we will take him to court," said Mambosasa before Sheikh Ponda was released.

Ponda's lawyer, Professor Abdallah Safari, said: "Sheikh Pondà has been deported, when she comes back I do not know but I do not think she will be taken to court."
