The Tanzanian government closed the Tanzania Daima newspaper for 90 days

The Tanzanian government through the information department has closed the Tanzania Daily journal, which is a daily newspaper, for 90 days.
The decree also banned the edition of the magazine.
According to the statement by the information director Dr Hassan Abbas, the newspaper has been banned from a violation of information professionalism including publishing false and stimulating information that could cause fears among the community.
Among the issues that led to the closure of the Tanzania Daima, was the editor's error in the 4706 issue of October 22, 2017, which wrote that '67 percent of the population use ARVs' anti-inflammatory drugs.
The department has claimed that the newspaper has provided false information aimed at bringing about a state of contempt against government action and the agreement reached by the Barrick Gold Corporation company.
