Treatment for every citizen has been developed

Dar es Salaam. The government has said to deal with the increase in medical costs for the population, it has prepared a health insurance bill for all who will make every Tanzanian sure medical.

He said yesterday by vice-president Samia Suluhu Hassan at the launch of a 49th health conference, with an agenda for promoting medical and professional ethics among health professionals.

The conference, held at the Kunduchi Beach Hotel in Dar es Salaam, went hand in hand with the General Conference of the Tanzania Medical Association (Mat).

Vice-President said the Government is working on the new strategy for health care delivery in the insurance system and has already been looking at how to use local sources of funding to achieve the goal.

He was responding to one of the arguments presented by Mat's president, Obadia Venance Nyongole in his speech.

"I have listened carefully to your president's speech and I know many are interested in finding answers to these arguments and taking the opportunity to answer them," said the Vice President.

The aim of these doctors was to advise the Government to introduce specialized equipments on petroleum products and minerals that would contribute to health care, especially to cover the costs of patients who were treated for exemption and special needs.

"To deal with the increase in medical costs for the people, the Government has taken a number of steps, including the preparation of a health insurance bill for all who will require every Tanzanian to be a member," said Samia.

"This will eliminate the inconvenience of access to treatment when he needs it."

At present the health insurance service is offered to a voluntary subscriber, and although the response has become great, most people have not joined the service.

But the Government has already begun to give identification to the elderly for free treatment.

"The government will continue to take action to identify the inexperienced elderly, 60-year-olds in each of the councils across the country to receive identity tags that will enable them to access free health services," said Mrs. Samia.

"Also, according to policy, we have specialized groups; example children under 5 years of age and pregnant women who are required to get free medical treatment. "At

first, Mat's president said that if the Government will make a change in the system, it will contribute to the increase in financial development in the health sector to make public health facilities and hospitals beneficial. and it will also succeed if every Tanzanian will have a health insurance. "If the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) will pay for real medical costs on the market and in time we will achieve this. But we advise the Government to establish a special focus on products such as cigarettes, oils and minerals that will contribute to health care in the country to cover the cost of patients who have been treated for exemption, "he said.

At the same time, the Vice President said the Government is in the process of establishing a mechanism for providing medical studies to reduce the mortgage burden they face when they start employment.

He said that medical students are spending a lot of time in academic studies, struggling to pay loans rather than to work, so funding will eliminate the situation.

"Let me tell them the secret, the Government is now considering how to provide support for students who are studying the field professionals because they have been studying the profession for a long time and have a great role in caring for the community," said Samia.

She added that she believes that the funding will attract more young people to choosing a medical profession and increasing the effectiveness of the workforce.

"I assure you that we are aware of the need to improve your interest, as we have already taken steps to increase the rates you pay for seeing the NHIF patient saying we will pay for this issue and consider it as likely as possible," he said.

Health Minister, Ummy Mwalimu said the Fiveth Phase Government has successfully expanded the health sector budget from 9.2% in 2015/16 to 10.1% in 2017/18.
